Adventures In Unemploymentland.

This is not the first time I’ve been laid off in my life. Being “a bit” older than the average 405 Club member, and being a freelancer most of my life, I’ve had my share of lost jobs and dwindling assignments. So what do you do while you’re looking for another good-paying job and unemployment coverage is running low — or has stopped altogether?

We all have our tales of the usual and not-so-usual jobs we’ve taken to fill the money gap. Whether it’s been waiting on tables, telemarketing, selling tickets to Broadway shows, selling popcorn at movie theatres, distributing flyers, and cleaning apartments, some of them have definitely been odd. But safe.

I lived to tell about one of them.
