IF NOT A JOB, CAN I AT LEAST GET AN AMEN?

This whole job search is really screwing with my mind.  But, as corny as it is, praying (alongside all the busting my ass in interviews, of course), is actually helping me be more peaceful and zen about it.  It’s probably ridiculous to be optimistic but I think it will work out.

The above passage reminded me of an article The New York Times had published earlier this month, “Job-Search Networks, in All Shapes and Sizes”, which clued us into job hunters turning to their church for guidance.

Have you turned towards prayer, faith and the church for support in your job search? Tell us about it — click the comments link on the right sidebar of the site beside this post.

*UPDATE* Couldn’t help but comment on this one. Yes, I believe people of faith, though they go through the fires of hell first, do find redemption in the form of a j-o-b.
I do believe in prayer. The spirit world may be the only reality. Many churches, by the way, offer job search assistance and emotional support. For example, St. Francis of Assissi at 135 West 31st St NYC has weekly sessions w/social worker in 5 wk modules. Here is the info: To be considered please email Marie Harrington at outreachstf135@aol.com. Phone is 212-736-8500 x290 or x354. These support groups may be ongoing. Never give up hope. Hope is what we have…sometimes the ONLY thing we have. May the wind be at your back…
