This is all of the available data for people collecting benefits under EUC 2008 (there’s a bit of a lag in the releases). A net 367,948 people stopped collecting Emergency Unemployment Compensation between June 12 and June 19, the most current data available. It is speculated that most of this was due to expiring benefits. This speculation is justified. Note that this isn’t the biggest decline, even in recent history. April had the largest one-week decline on record. The problem of expiring benefits is about to get substantially worse.
