It’s your time to shine.

New York Magazine reached out to the club today in effort to collect stories from New Yorkers who lost their job during the recession. Apparently we’re a goldmine for that sort of thing!

They are casting a wide net — inviting New York City residents from all walks of life to share their (frustrating, inspiring, exasperating, or surprising) experiences recovering from setback.  Whether you’re still unemployed or have found a job, your story could be featured in an upcoming issue of the magazine.

Last week was a great week press-wise for The 405 Club.  On Monday we were fortunate enough to be featured in an unemployment blog article within The NY Post [link] and on Friday Long Island’s Newsday highlighted the club with their article “Unemployed? Join The 405 Club” [link].

We couldn’t be happier to raise awareness of our club across Long Island.  Many of our members are from the island, our local one stop career coach/Hardworker Gloria Schramm is a Long Islander and we also feature Long Island job openings on our Jobr Job board [link] located on the left sidebar via recruiter Ronda Scharlat [link].  This is really only the beginning as we continue, with your help, to grow and network throughout the entire state of New York.
